Hey everyone, following up on the previous discussion about Walmart Connect ROAS. My campaigns are really struggling right now, specifically with how budget is allocated and spent. It's driving me a bit crazy trying to get things consistent.

The core problem Iโ€™m facing is getting my Walmart Connect campaigns to spend their allocated budget efficiently. Some campaigns underspend significantly, even when I feel like they should be performing, while others blow through their budget too quickly without hitting my optimal ROAS targets. This inconsistency makes it incredibly difficult to scale effectively and predictably.

I've tried a few things to tackle this:

  • Adjusting daily budget limits up and down, sometimes aggressively, to see if I can force more spend or rein in overspending.
  • Experimenting with different bid strategies (auto vs. manual, varying bids for different ad groups) to influence spend rate.
  • Segmenting campaigns by product type and attempting different budget approaches for each, hoping to find a sweet spot.
  • Monitoring campaign budget allocation daily and making manual adjustments, which feels like a full-time job in itself.

Even with high bids and relevant targeting, some campaigns just won't spend much at all. Others spend, but the ROAS isn't there, and I feel like the budget could be better utilized elsewhere. I'm seeing patterns like this in my reports:

CampaignID: WC-PROD-2023-01
Status: Active
Daily Budget: $150.00
Actual Spend: $45.20 (underspent)
Impressions: Low
Clicks: Very Low
ROAS: N/A (insufficient data)

CampaignID: WC-BRAND-2023-02
Status: Active
Daily Budget: $100.00
Actual Spend: $100.00 (spent fully)
Impressions: High
Clicks: Moderate
ROAS: 1.8x (below target of 2.5x)

It really feels like there's a disconnect between the platform's ability to spend and my desired performance metrics.

I'm really seeking advice on:

  • Effective strategies for campaign budget allocation specifically on Walmart Connect.
  • Any tools or methods for predictive budget planning that work well with this platform.
  • Tips for troubleshooting underspending campaigns without sacrificing ROAS on others.
  • Any specific bid strategy recommendations that help with better budget utilization and hitting ROAS goals.

Anyone faced this before and found a reliable way to optimize their Walmart Connect campaign budgets?
