My IP geolocation tool thinks I'm on Mars, help?

So, our new IP Lookup Tool—you know, the one for geo-locating any IP address—has decided that half our users are now residing somewhere near the asteroid belt. It's hilarious, but also, yikes. Seriously though, the IP address lookup results for many are wildly inaccurate, making our 'IP Lookup Tool - Geo-locate Any IP Address & Get Details' look completely broken regarding geolocation accuracy. Any quick debugging tips or common culprits for such wild IP geolocation discrepancies? Help a brother out please...

Answered 2 days agoHello Amelia Davis, 'Help a brother out please...' could use a comma, but I totally get the urgency! I've definitely seen IP geolocation tools throw users into the asteroid belt; it's incredibly frustrating for segmentation or fraud detection.
- Most common issues stem from widespread VPN/proxy usage and mobile IPs, which shift frequently, combined with outdated or less granular `IP geolocation` databases.
- To debug, verify specific problematic IPs using What is my IP Address or external services like IPinfo.io and MaxMind to check their reported location and `proxy detection` status.
